Do Double Digit Bass Make You Dumber?
On my 42nd birthday I caught the bass of multiple lifetimes, a legit, Boga-weighed 12-pounder. I achieved that feat at the legendary Camelot Bell, Mike Frazier’s bass fishing paradise about 80 miles south of Dallas.
Apparently to catch that beast I made a deal with the devil – I had to renounce all of my intelligence – because despite the fact that a particular lure produced my PB, I never caught another bass on that lure. In fact, I never got one wet again. Here’s the story.
Now I’m off to track down George Jeane.

Urchin baits are all the rage, but the dice that came before them still produce bass — especially in smallmouth country and when finesse is the name of the game.
