Orange Braided Line that Stands Out

Two filler spools of Sunline Siglon Braid Orange

Anglers who use braid-to-fluorocarbon setups often employ pink, white, yellow or lo-vis green braid for their main line. It allows them to “see bites” that they might otherwise miss if a less visible line blended into the background.

But as I’ve added more spinning rods to the deck of my bass boat, I’ve had trouble recalling what braid is on which reel. It’s simply too hard to tell 8-pound test from 10-pound test, for example.

One way to fix this is to color-code your line choices, using different colors for each line strength – and if you’ve run out of more conventional colors, a surprising number of manufacturers make their braids in orange. Here are eight to consider:

By using multiple braid colors, you can immediately know which rod and reel setup you’re grabbing as you need to quickly fire a cast at a fish that you see busting the surface or on your forward-facing sonar. Establish a personal system and you’ll become a more efficient angler.
