Copa Airlines News 2026 (Plus Bonus Rail Link)
As we get ready for trip number seven to Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge, we continue to find only good things about Copa Airlines, Panama’s flagship carrier. It’s not just our Panama trips -- we also took them (through PTY) on our trip to Casa Vieja Lodge in Guatemala this February and considered them for our December trip to Argentina.
We like their service, their schedule and particularly the fact that they continue to grow.
If you’re an angler considering a trip on Copa, here’s the latest news to know:

There’s even talk of a rail link connecting parts of Central America, which could eventually open up multi-country itineraries in ways that just aren’t possible today.
It’s early—but it shows where things are headed.
Thinking About Panama?
If you’ve been considering a trip to Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge, now is a great time to start planning.
We run fully hosted weeks at the lodge and focus on making the on-the-ground experience seamless once you arrive --great fishing, good company, and a smooth, well-organized trip from start to finish. Even if you go without us, you’ll still get the exceptional VIP experience.
With Copa and other carriers continuing to expand service into Panama City, getting there keeps getting easier year after year.
Reach out if you want details on upcoming hosted dates or availability.
