Could We Someday Have a Lanier Classic? Emil Wagner Hopes So
I’ve been to many of not most of the historic Bassmaster tournament venues but of the ones that remain there are three atop the list: Clear Lake, for largemouths; the St. Lawrence for smallmouths; and Lanier for spots. If and when I finally get to chase a few of those spottapotamuses I hope it’s with Elite Series pro Emil Wagner, who guides there.
While he was preparing to fish the 2026 Bassmaster Classic on the Tennessee River, I allowed him to opine on how he’d fish a future Classic on his home pond.
