I have been speaking to David Leiffer about his stupendous idea of taking his son Ryan to Anglers Inn El Salto for his graduation present from high school close to a year. Based on how it went I think they both wish there was another graduation around the corner.

I’ve already detailed the list of baits that Hanna and I used successfully on our most recent trip to Lake El Salto. Nevertheless, I didn’t feel that particular blog entry captured everything about our most recent trip to bass Disneyland. Accordingly, for those of you who are similarly obsessed, here are some additional factoids and opinions – I hope that they help you on your next trip South of the Border.

Lake El Salto is full – newly full of water and of course, as always, full of big, mean, Florida-strain largemouth bass. You may recall that when we were there in mid-June, the lake was at a record low, which bunched the fish up really nicely. The shoreline cover that grew up while the lake was down is now inundated with water, creating a highly fertile ecosystem.
