Drinking Our Way to Alaska

AK BTL.jpeg

Alaska is finally opening up to out-of-state travelers, and we’re dying to get back. I had an epic trip last summer, and Hanna wants to go because it’s one of three states she’s never visited.

We’re holding out hope that we’ll make it there in July, or possibly August, but if your Alaska plans are currently on hold, you should be able to drink yourself to a point of believing you’re there….and you can do it entirely with fish-themed brews.

Sockeye Red IPA is one of the flagship beers of Midnight Sun Brewing Company in Anchorage

They also offer CoHoHo Imperial IPA

Seward Brewing Company, close to where my halibut charter launched last summer, makes Pinbone IPA and Rockfish Red, although Panty Peeler may be more your preference.

Broken Tooth Brewing in Anchorage brews YellowEye P.A.., named after one of the coolest fish we caught

Denali Brewing offers Chinook Pale seasonally

Kassik’s Kenai Brewery crushes it with Dolly Varden Nut Brown

To be totally honest, I was surprised that I wasn’t able to find more fishy beers from the 49th state. Help me out, friends. Certainly there are more, like halibut or lingcod brews that I’ve yet to find.
