Berkley Goes All-In On Green Pumpkin Soft Plastics

Berkley Craw Soft Plastic Green Pumpkin

When I first purchased some 7” Berkley Power Worms in the mid-1980s, I bought solid black, probably because it was one of the few colors the tackle shop carried. As I became a more experienced angler, it seemed like many of my friends gravitated to watermelon. I have plenty of soft plastics in those shades, but my go-to is the related green pumpkins. I have confidence in some form of green pumpkin everywhere bass swim, in an exceptionally wide variety of water conditions.

Since I bought those first Power Worms, Berkley has substantially expanded their soft plastic lineup – producing additional stalwarts like the Flat Worm, General and the Pit Boss. If you don’t own a wide variety of PowerBait and MaxScent products, you’re missing out.

Along with the expansion of the overall lineup, they’ve likewise created and popularized many of the most valuable colors you can fish. They certainly haven’t slept on Green Pumpkin, with well over a dozen different shades. Depending on where you fish or what the local forage might be, you can tailor your choices to maximize your catch.

Here are my most-used Berkley soft plastics:
