Best of the Bass Pro Shops House Brand Bass Lures

Even if you don’t make a dedicated trip to a Bass Pro Shops outpost, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll pass one going down the highway. Time permitting you should stop in, because they run great sales and you may be surprised at how many different needs you’ll encounter – clothing, household items, and of course fishing tackle. While my tackle selection overfloweth, I always use a BPS stop to restock.

In recent years they’ve leaned heavily on their house brands like XPS. Here are some of the best options from those lineups, which provide an excellent opportunity to stock up at reasonable prices:

Bass Pro Shops Swerve glide bait

Even the hard-core swimbait purists who typically don’t buy anything mass-market, or anything that costs less than $200, had to admit that this glide runs well and comes in key colors.

Bass Pro Shops XPS Chaos Shad plopper topwater

I’ve been fishing these since last fall, and if you’re looking for a bulbous plopper bait, particularly in larger sizes, this one gets bit.

Bass Pro Shops Stik-O stickbait

I’m a Senko loyalist, but I’ve been in the boat with plenty of top pros who swear by the Stik-O at any price, and you can’t deny that these bulk packs cost far less per bait.

Discontinued Steve Kennedy BPS Swimbait

The latest version of the “discontinued magical bait” used by Steve Kennedy, Fred Roumbanis, Takahiro Omori and others, may not be exactly like the old one, but it’s an affordable soft solution that swims well and is pretty solid at this price point.

XPS Speed Shad ribbed swimbait

Whether you fish it on a jighead or slap five of them on the back of an A-Rig, this is another copy that does an exemplary job without breaking the bank.
