New Products I Found for Summer at the 2026 Bassmaster Classic
I love summertime, so while I was at the Bassmaster Classic in Knoxville I made sure to ask some friends how they were gearing up for the summer on the water.
First Jake at AFTCO walked me through some of their new and improved threads.
Then Melinda at Bajio showed me their side-shield sunglasses and great new hats.
Last but certainly not least, if you are looking for a lightweight rain jacket that doesn’t feel like you are wearing crinkly paper or something that holds in the heat you need to purchase the FXR - Women's Adventure Lite Tri-Laminate Jacket.
Right as I put it on the biggest surprises were that it was lightweight and hit below the bum. The jacket feels good enough to wear in a downpour (I will bring it to Panama, in case of rain, and will let you know), but I like it so much I have started to wear it every day. The one item on the jacket that concerned me is the half-elastic cuff that you can’t tighten. I was afraid it might leak water onto my sleeves, but it hasn’t so far, and I’ll let you know after I get into a true storm with no other protection.
FXR nailed the color choice with wine (something I’ve not seen before). It also comes in black and grey. Perhaps more importantly, it fits true to size,. I am a medium in most shirts and jackets and fits great over my fuller chest. They are adding new products for women as I write this, and I appreciate their willingness to make products specifically for our needs and bodies.
