As I recently noted, there are lots of great flight options to get to Anchorage from the Lower 48, spread across multiple airlines. It pays to be price-sensitive and schedule-sensitive. However, Alaska Airlines offer the most choices, including direct flights from Chicago, Denver, Everett (WA), Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Portland, San Francisco and Seattle. In our limited experience, their service, their timeliness and even the pancake machine in the airport lounge are top notch.
