Bad Company at Ascension Island
Since I first became enthralled with the idea of exotic fishing travel outside of this hemisphere, I’ve documented my obsession with a trip to Ascension Island. Apparently many of you have as well, because it’s been one of our most popular posts, but as a result of hurdles related to COVID, travel and infrastructure I figured the best that I’d ever do would be to get the commemorative t-shirt.
Hope springs eternal, though, and right now the team from Bad Company Fishing Adventures is living my dream. Granted, unlike Anthony Hsieh I may never have the opportunity or the means to develop or crew a private sportfishing program including an 11 cabin, 175 yacht mothership, but the fact that they’ve navigated many of the hurdles – like a visa – mean that it’s possible. Perhaps during my lifetime some of those hurdles will fall, or at least be reduced.
