No More Anniversary Gifts

Studio Abachar White Seabass Catalina Island

Pete and I have made a vow that we are no longer going to buy each other anniversary gifts.

Well… apparently neither one of us is very good at keeping that vow.

Maybe it’s because we didn’t get to spend our anniversary together this year. I was back home after our New York Bassmaster Open adventure and Pete continued on to cover the Elites on the St. Lawrence, so the day came and went without our usual time together.

Upon my return home there was a big box waiting for me.

I was definitely surprised — especially since Pete still had the Elite to cover and somehow managed to keep whatever was inside a secret.

Of course, I had to open it and let's just say, he did pretty good.

You'll have to check out the video to see what was inside, because some things are just better revealed than explained.

And yes, it is staying in the box for now. We have to find the perfect place for it in our new home before it gets hung.

So much for our “no anniversary gifts” rule.

Maybe we’ll do better next year.

Probably not.

If you’d like to catch a white seabass of your own, we would love to hook you up with Oliver and Riley Ngy of Big Bass Dreams. They continue to exceed expectations every day on the water – lately they’ve been catching white marlin off the California coast. Just email us and we’ll hook you up.
