Picture Me 3D is On ‘Em

We got to roam the Bassmaster Classic Expo in Ft. Worth quite a bit this year. While there were plenty of boats, swimbaits and clothing to keep my attention for a while, the one product that might interest our fellow travelers most was in Matt Robertson’s booth – Picture Me 3D photos.

They produce high-definition photos of you or your loved one with their trophy fish – and the fish protrudes out in three-dimensions, jumping off the two-dimensional screen to be more arresting, vibrant, memorable and distinctive.

“Basically, it allows you to create a personal memory of your most special days,” Robertson explained. “It’s like you’re there in that moment. It tells you the whole story, puts you back there when you caught that trophy peacock or your biggest bass.”

They come standard in three sizes: A is 20.25x25.25 and can include 1-2 fish; B is 23.75x33.75 and can include 1-4 fish; C is 35x42 and can include 1-5 fish. All three can be oriented in portrait or panorama views. They can also do custom sizes up to 4x8, so if you want you, your wife or your kid taking up most of a wall, that’s doable,”

Some notable anglers have already bought in.

“Sarah Parvin and her bluegills are one of my favorites,” Robertson said. “Cooper Gallant’s brother got a big king salmon and Coop got a mahi. I really like the saltwater fish because of their vibrant colors. A fish like a mahi, all of that yellow and green on a blue background really pops.”

While traditional and replica mounts remain popular (we have quite a few in our house) one nice thing about Picture Me 3D is that you can capture the entire scene – so if your grandfather leaves you a mount of his most memorable fish, all you have is the fish, but with these lifelike photos you can remember who caught it, where, when and how.

There’s also the timing factor. These days most replicas from reputable taxidermists take at least a year. We’ve waited up to two years and had one friend who waited patiently for a ridiculous four. The turnaround time from Picture Me 3D is two weeks for production plus the time to ship it.

“You’ll have it in no more than 30 days,” Robertson said. “By the time you get back from the Amazon it’s almost waiting at home for you.”
