Sticking it Where the Sun Shines all Night – My Favorite Alaska Rainbow Trout Decals
Ever since our most recent trip to Alaska’s Bear Trail Lodge I’ve been obsessing a bit about rainbow trout. That’s weird, because my fishing life until recently resided primarily in bassville – but these big ‘bows we caught on our flyouts got me hungry to catch more and bigger specimens.
That’s why we’re going back next September, which we’re told is the best time for trophy Alaskan rainbow trout. Until that, I’ll have to dream.
It would look weird if I showed up at a boat ramp on the Potomac or Guntersville or Rayburn with a rainbow trout decal on the back of my Suburban. Most of the tow vehicles there sport ads for Tackle Warehouse, specific brands of bass boats and local tournament circuits. Still, I’m considering it.
There are plenty of rainbow trout stickers and decals out there, but the ones that I like have a specific Alaska reference connection.
