Yellow Perch Replicas – Ringed and Ready

very colorful yellow perch on a black background

We catch plenty of eating-sized yellow perch here on the Potomac. They’ll knock the absolute crap out of a spinnerbait or Rat-L-Trap, but generally we consider them a nuisance. My friends up north would consider that statement to be sacrilege. People in places like Michigan and Wisconsin and much of Canada consider them not only one of the most plateworthy species, but also a fierce competitor on the right tackle.

If you think that yellow perch are a worthy adversary to be treasured, you don’t have to give up your fillets – you can have your perch and eat it, too, if you get a replica. Here are some of the best ones I’ve found.

What’s another underrated species that deserves to be on your wall? Let us know and we’ll find the best examples.
