It’s a Frog! It’s a Bird! You’re Both Right

Earlier this year, Ish Monroe won a BAM Pro/AM event on the California Delta with 62.79 pounds over three days. He used a variety of lures, but two of the keys were a River2Sea Phat Mat Daddy Frog and River2Sea Whopper Plopper, both in “Yellow Head,” a black body with a yellow head. That pattern has also frequently been referred to as “Tweety” or “Canary.”

It reminded me of when Aaron Martens won an Elite Series tournament by targeting largemouths feeding on blackbirds. Sometimes bass just want a more protein-packed meal, but black is a great frog color even when bass are feeding on other forage.

In addition to Ish’s signature frog, River2Sea makes two other frogs in that same Yellow Bird Pattern.
