Sapphire Blue Chunk Trailers for Muddy Water Flipping
When it comes time to flip a jig, especially into thick mats, I still gravitate to black and blue – but typically the jig trailer is black with blue flake. But I need to get back to the old Denny Brauer staple – a black jig with a vibrant blue trailer, especially one with some glitter to make it extra-visible.
Whether you call it “Sapphire Blue” or “Blue Sapphire,” there are still plenty of chunk-style trailers that you can drop in and around heavy cover when the water gets chocolatey. Here are some to consider:
Zoom also offers up chunks like the Salty Pro Chunk and Small Salty Chunk in the glitter-free “Flippin Blue” color.
And if you’re still all about the pigskin, Uncle Josh produces the old school #11 Pork Frog in a decidedly bright blue.
This is a low-cost means of enhancing your overall jig palette, and in the age of forward-facing sonar and ultra-natural colors, it may be one your local fish have yet to see.
