Twinning in Mag Bay
Back in the day, we used to call our girlies to find out what they were wearing the next day so you DIDN’T wear the same thing -- that would be soooo mortifying.
Thankfully, at this age we have grown out of that stage. Wearing the same item isn’t a bad thing. It means you both have great taste. It’s true that imitation can be the sincerest form of flattery.
Despite the fact that my friend Samantha Sukupcak live 800 miles apart and didn’t pre-plan wardrobes for our trip to Magdalena Bay, on day two we walked on deck wearing the same exact outfit, down to the colors. The only difference was that while we both wore Costa sunglasses, albeit in different styles (she doesn’t have a pumpkin head like I do). If you’d like to twin (triplet?) with us, or just take our style as a ringing endorsement, consider buying these items for yourself or for the female angler in your life.
A breathable, stay cool, stain resistant, sun protectant, quick dry fishing shirt made for a WOMAN. I would wear this top out and about not just fishing -- it is really flattering on the female figure. Don’t forget that AFTCO donates 10% of their profits to preserve our fisheries, another reason to pick them over other brands.
Weedline Hola Fishes Tank Top
I like different and memorable items and my Hola Fishes tank top is a hit every time I wear it. Apparently Sam liked mine so much she bought one too. Sadly, Weedline no longer has our tank top but they do have a trucker cap with the same saying, perfect for Mexico, Guatemala or Panama.
I was going to do everything in my power to catch a marlin so wearing a marlin seemed to make sense. The Briny leggings stay up around the belly, are comfortable, cooling and hide you from the sun with their UPF 40+ sun protection. They are lightweight, dry fast and have one of the better marlin designs out there. By the way, wearing them worked….over and over again.
You can’t go wrong with a pair of Costa Del Mar polarized sunglasses. Samantha crams her smartness into her very small head so she chose the Brine II frames and if you shop at Tackle Warehouse you can get the Brine (with vent holes) as well.
What I love about these glasses is that they fit my pumpkin head and they are still stylish. Yyou can wear them out and about as an everyday glasses choice (I am such a fashionista). The frame fit is wide and as the name Aransas suggests, everything in Texas is bigger. They also come in a bluish tortoise color and gray with matching lenses.
There is something about feeling good in what you are wearing. It makes the experience better and shines in our trip pictures. Our matching moment reflects the quality, durability and stylishness of these particular products. Perhaps it wasn’t just a coincidence. Maybe it was a sign that the fishing industry is finally listening to the female angler and giving us clothing worth buying and showing up looking like twins.
I’d twin with you any day Samantha!!
