New Copa Flights: Austin to Panama and Back Again

One of the things that make fishing trips to Panama so easy is the wealth of direct flights between the United States and Tocumen Airport. As we recently documented, Copa is adding direct flights from Baltimore later this year, but if you thought they were stopping there, you – like us – were wrong.

As The Points Guy and others recently reported, later this year Copa will start flights between Panama City (PTY) and Austin, Texas (AUS) on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. The flights TO Austin will leave in the morning, and the flights FROM Austin will leave in the afternoon.

That’ll bring the number of cities in the Lone Star State with direct flights to PTY to two – Austin and Houston. Dallas flyers will still likely have to take a second flight. If you’re on American, then DFW to Miami to PTY may be your best option.
