Celebrate With a Shot of Jack

Pete Robbins with Jack Crevalle in Panama's Gulf of Chiriqui

I’m still not sure why many anglers (including us, occasionally) look down on the Jack Crevalle. They battle hard, grow reasonably large, and are related to a bunch of other esteemed fish I the jack family. They can be remarkably pretty, too, with various shades of vibrant colors. Some others have looked past the noise and seen them for what they are – true trophies – and have the replicas to prove it. Here are some of our favorites:

Maybe now we’ll look at them different on our next trip to Panama, where we almost always catch a few of these brawlers while chasing more celebrated species like roosterfish and cubera snapper. Let us know if you’d like to join us.
