Drink Your Favorite Technique

When I fish, I am not a technique snob. I just want to use what is going to catch me the most or the biggest bass. While I love a topwater bite, I’ll fish deep when that’s appropriate. I love big tungsten and heavy braid, but I won’t hesitate to pull out a spinning rod and light fluoro.

When it comes to beer, however, you can afford to be picky. Drink the brands and styles that you like. Don’t compromise. Your taste buds are yours and yours alone. With that in mind, here are some fishy beers that allow you to stay true to yourself.

If you can find a blonde who is deadly on top, marry her. Until then, drink some Buzzbait Blonde from Adelbert’s Brewery in Austin TX

But if you prefer a diving plug, grab some Crank Yanker IPA from Eddyline Brewing

As long as you’re cranking, you’ll want to dial in your meter, which means you can sip on some Finder New England IPA from Maine’s Shipyard Brewing Co. (instead of beer goggles you’ll experience side-imaging)

Once you’re up on the front deck, you’ll be Actively Fishing, so try the beer of the same name from Crooked Hammock Brewery

And never forget Tom Mann’s favorite fish, and the lipless crank he inspired, when you drink Leroy Brown Cask Ale from Big Lake Brewing

Finally, when you just want to kick back and focus more on imbibing than on fishing, go with Bobber Lager from Missouri’s Logboat Brewing
