While Dr Pepper is my non-alcoholic elixir of choice, root beer is a close second. Apparently lots of anglers and bait manufacturers like it, too, because it’s a popular bait color – whether spelled with one word or two. And just like the beverage, there are all sorts of variations on the theme – light, dark, strong, bubbly, or even with a scoop of ice cream. Here are some of the shallow cranking variations:
