What’s In a Name: Big Bait Edition

There are plenty of creatively-named lures out there, as well as some pretty damn hilarious color patterns (think “Vomit” or “Munky Butt” or “Day Old Guac” or just about anything from Andre Moore’s Reaction Innovations). But there are also a few lures out there named after famous people. Here are a few favorites:

I’d be remiss if I didn’t offer up a Reaction Innovations option in this column, and they came through with an ode to Reality TV star Honey Boo Boo – “Honey Doo Doo”

Z-Man’s TRD series includes not only a color called “Yoga Pants,” but also one named after the late NBA star Kobe Bryant: “Goby Bryant”

Perhaps my favorite name in this category comes from Nomad Tackle: “Chug Norris”

And big bait make Ceasar Chavez (who himself has roughly the same moniker as a figure in history) of Toxic Baits has come out with both “Wade Hoggs”

And an oversized soft amphibian named after the legendary batsman: “Wade Froggs”
