Casa Vieja’s Upgrades – Sleep Tight and Take the Plunge

There is something special about returning to a place that already feels like home – and I get that special feeling every time I step back onto the grounds of the Casa Vieja Lodge. But our February 2026 trip exceeded that typical rush. Everything that made Casa Vieja legendary stayed exactly the same, but there were some substantial upgrades.

The improvements didn’t replace the tradition. They simply enhanced it with new rooms and a greatly enlarged pool with a swim up bar and more space to relax after a day of catching and releasing all those sailfish.

We have been there six times – with trip #7 already on the schedule -- and things continue to get better at Casa Vieja but they never lose what made it special in the first place – the staff, captains, crew, boats, food, comfort and, of course, the fishing.
