Fugu is the Japanese name for what is known in the US as pufferfish. In Japanese cuisine they’re considered a delicacy, but they require careful preparation – to avoid the lethal poison known as tetrodotoxin. Not surprisingly (to me, at least) there are a number of beers named after this legendary and photogenic fish, none of which are known to be poison. Here are a few:
